SEWER SCOPE INSPECTIONS

During a sewer scope inspection, various issues that could impact the functionality and integrity of your plumbing system may be discovered. Here's a list of typical problems identified during such inspections:

1. Tree Root Intrusion: Roots can penetrate and damage sewer pipes, leading to blockages and leaks.

2. Pipe Corrosion: Over time, pipes can corrode, compromising their structural integrity and causing potential leaks.

3. Blockages and Clogs: Debris, grease, or foreign objects can create blockages, hindering the flow of wastewater.

4. Cracked or Broken Pipes: Age, ground shifts, or external pressure can cause pipes to crack or break, leading to leaks and sewage backups.

5. Offset or Misaligned Pipes: Pipes that are not properly aligned can cause water and waste to accumulate, leading to blockages and reduced flow.

6. Bellied Pipes: Sections of pipes may sink, creating a low point where waste and debris can accumulate.

7. Sewer Line Erosion: Soil erosion around sewer lines can undermine their stability and lead to collapse.

8. Leaking Joints: Seals between pipe sections may degrade, allowing water to escape and potentially erode the surrounding soil.

9. Invasive Objects: Foreign objects or debris may have entered the sewer line, causing obstructions.

10. Poor Installation: Improperly installed pipes or outdated materials may contribute to various issues over time.

11. Grease Buildup: Accumulation of grease and fat can lead to blockages, restricting the flow of wastewater.

12. Inadequate Slope: Sewer pipes should have a proper slope for efficient drainage; a lack of slope can lead to standing water and blockages.

Identifying these issues through a sewer scope inspection allows for proactive maintenance, preventing more extensive and costly repairs in the future. Regular inspections are a key aspect of maintaining a healthy and efficient plumbing system in your home.
